Road To Horizon interview

RTHNext month sees the release of Road To Horizon’s upcoming EP, Faultlines, and with their video for Sirens already causing a stir online, we took the opportunity to have a chat with the band.

Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to have a chat with us!
Hey! No problem at all 🙂

First things first, tell us a bit about yourselves and what kind of music you make.
We’re Road To Horizon, a 5 piece post hardcore/metalcore group from Leeds, UK. It’s very hard to just confine us to one genre within the alternative scene as we take inspiration from lots of different styles and all listen to different things from Architects to Deaf Havana. We do tend to have lots of melody and clean vocals within our tracks which is a nice contrast to what a lot of other bands within the genre are doing at the moment.

You’ve got your new EP, Faultlines, coming out this October – what can we expect from the release?
Huge choruses, heavy riffs, lots of melody and a breakdown thrown in here and there!

How’ve you changed/grown since the release of acclaimed Chapters last year?
We’ve grown a lot as songwriters and musicians over the past year or so and these songs are honestly the best stuff we’ve written to date. We’re all really proud of how the EP has turned out and can’t wait for you all to hear them!

You’ve said you’ve decided to put your personal lives aside and drive full force into the music. What’re you going to miss most once a van becomes home?
When we go out on tour we always miss a hot shower and a good nights sleep. Services showers and the bunks in the van aren’t that great but they serve a purpose. It’s really cool when fans offer us a place to stay on tour. We really do appreciate that!

What’re your plans for the band for the rest of the year, after Faultlines comes out on October 20th?
We expect to tour quite a lot, and we will be releasing lots of bonus content to follow up on the release. Acoustic tracks, playthroughs, video diaries etc.

And,  finally, where can people catch you live next?
We are announcing a full UK tour in support of the new release within the next week or so. Keep an eye on our Facebook/Twitter/Instagram @roadtohorizon for the announcement.

Thanks for the chat, guys, and all the best with the EP, can’t wait to give it a listen!
