Rupert Stroud – Morning Light review

I’ll say it, I don’t get to work with singer/songwriter’s all that often, and it’s a great shame, but I think Rupert Stroud makes up for the infrequency of the occurrence with his fantastic new single and video, Morning Light. If you’ve never heard of his music before, think of a mix between Frank Turner and Everything Everything, Plain White T’s and a happier version of Tom Odell or Half Moon Run and a male Nine Nesbitt.

This indisputably catchy song has “mainstream radio hit” written all over it, and is of the same calibre  as newcomers such as Vance Joy and more experienced musicians like Bombay Bicycle Club. It feels like there’s a gap in easily accessible music at the minute, and this track has drawn my attention to the scarcity of upbeat male singer/songwriters, a gap which can be filled with Rupert Stroud. And if you’ve heard the track, you can’t deny that it’ll set you in the perfect mood for summer! Check out the video below.
