The Thieves – Run review

THETHEIVESRUNAt the end of last month, Derby quartet The Thieves released their brand new single, Run. Consisting of frontman Will Hughes, guitarist Jake Stevens, drummer Jake Power and bassist Ed Pollard, the band formed in late 2013, and have since received radio play from the BBC and performed various shows up and down the country.

Released on May 23rd and recorded in Sound-Hub Studios, this new track features anthemic riffs, heartfelt vocals and steady drums, somehow managing to blend the pop-esque synth sounds of The 1975 with the much loved indie riffs of some biggest brit-rock names in the industry. Hughes’ echoing vocals mash together the voices of Benny Salter (The First) and Rob Damiani (Don Broco), while Stevens’ slow riffs bare a slight resemblance to early Deaf Havana.

The Thieves will be playing a number of live shows throughout June, check out the dates below:

June 13 – York, Goodfest (Supporting Amber Run)
