We Came From Wolves – Where’d Your Love Go? review

October 23rd sees the thrilling new episode of work from Scottish rockers We Came From Wolves. Taken from their critically claimed self-titled debut album, Where’d Your Love Go is a fine sample from a strong contender in the new wave of rock that’s hitting the UK. Speaking of the track, frontman Kyle Burgess said, “WYLG is one of my favourite songs on our album. It’s so different to previous offerings in it’s tone and simplicity, yet packs such a dark punch. The main theme within the song is betrayal, both physically and emotionally”.

Though there’s always the impulse to resist the urge to compare any Scottish rock to Biffy Clyro, there’s a sense of control in the intricacies of Where’d Your Love Go? that eludes to these influences. Raw instrumentals meeting emotional lyrics echo the likes of Fatherson, with enough power in each line to let a Deaf Havana atmosphere creep in. Despite these comparisons, We Came From Wolves have drawn up a sound that hits a niche in the genre, a solid track to accompany a stunning live show.

Where’d Your Love Go? is released in October 23rd.
