At the end of last month, Nottingham’s heavy pop-punkers On The Open Road released their long-awaited debut EP, Hold On To This; we’re very happy to present to you the trio’s new music video to accompany the release, for closing acoustic number What’s Best For You.
Closing the EP with an acoustic song always makes it feel like somewhat of a bonus track, and the raw, one take sound that What’s Best For You exhibits supports that. Heart-on-sleeve and, well, a bit emo, it’s easily comparable to the likes of Real Friends and rounds the offering up nicely – you can check out what we made of the full five track offering here (to sum up, we like it).
Frontman and guitarist Tom Hawk also gave us some trivia on the shooting of the video –
The video was shot in January/February across two days and it was bloody freezing! You can see in some parts how cold my hands and fingers are, we had to redo bits because I kept fucking up the guitar parts.
The letter in the video is just the lyrics of the song put onto paper.
The video was shot in a park that’s quite local to us, people walked past and looked really confused by the view of a guy playing his guitar and singing on a park bench.
Have a watch of the video for What’s Best For You below…
